Grilled Ham and Cheese Sandwich with Asparagus Mayonnaise

A tasty asparagus mayonnaise spread makes this grilled ham and cheese sandwich even better, giving an old favorite a fun new look.

Ingredients:

  • 4 slices of bread

  • 8 slices of ham

  • 4 slices of cheese such as cheddar or Swiss

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise

  • 1/2 cup cooked asparagus, chopped

  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Butter for spreading

Instructions:

In a bowl, mix together mayonnaise, chopped asparagus, Parmesan cheese, lemon juice, salt, and pepper to make the asparagus mayonnaise spread


Spread the asparagus mayonnaise on one side of each slice of bread


Layer 2 slices of ham and 1 slice of cheese on top of the asparagus mayonnaise on two bread slices


Top each sandwich with the remaining bread slices, mayonnaise side down


Spread butter on the outside of each sandwich


Heat a skillet over medium heat


Place the sandwiches in the skillet and cook until golden brown and the cheese is melted, about 3-4 minutes per side


Serve hot and enjoy!

Ingredients:

  • 8 ripe plums, halved and pitted

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 cup water

  • 2 cinnamon sticks

  • 4 whole cloves

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • Zest of 1 orange

  • Zest of 1 lemon

Instructions:

Sugar, water, cinnamon sticks, cloves, vanilla extract, orange zest, and lemon zest should all be mixed together in a large saucepan


Use a stir to mix


Over medium-high heat, bring the mixture to a boil


Then, turn down the heat to low and let it simmer for 5 minutes


This will make a tasty syrup


Add the plums, halves and pits removed, slowly to the syrup, making sure they are covered


Let it cook for 10 to 15 minutes, or until the plums are soft but not mushy


Watch out not to cook them too much


After the plums are poached, use a slotted spoon to take them out of the syrup and put them in a serving dish


Turn up the heat under the syrup and boil it for another 5 to 7 minutes


This will make the syrup a little thicker

Add the cherry tomatoes and cook, stirring occasionally, until they begin to blister, about 5 minutes


Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute


Stir in the balsamic vinegar and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the tomatoes are softened and coated in the balsamic glaze


Remove the salmon from the grill and transfer to a serving platter

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup 2 sticks unsalted butter, softened

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed

  • 2 large eggs

  • 2 and 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 2 cups chocolate chips

  • 1 and 1/2 cups mini marshmallows

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 350F 175C and line baking sheets with parchment paper


In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy


Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition


Stir in the vanilla extract


In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt


Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined


Fold in the chocolate chips


Drop rounded tablespoons of cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart

Waffle Fry Sliders are a fun take on regular sliders because the buns are made of crispy waffle fries. They taste great and are great for parties or as a snack.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef

  • 1/2 cup diced onion

  • 1/2 cup diced bell pepper

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  • 12 small waffle fries

  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • Ketchup and mustard for serving

Instructions:

Turn on your oven and heat it up to 425F 220C


Add the ground beef, diced onion, and diced bell pepper to a skillet over medium-low heat


Cook until the beef is browned and the vegetables are soft


Get rid of any extra fat


Use salt, black pepper, and garlic powder to season the beef mix


After mixing well, set it aside


Following the directions on the package, put the waffle fries on a baking sheet and bake them in a hot oven until they are golden and crispy


If you want to add more cheddar cheese to each fry after they are done, take them out of the oven and do that


Put them back in the oven for a few minutes to melt the cheese and make it bubbly


Put a small amount of the seasoned ground beef on top of each cheesy waffle fry to make the sliders


Put ketchup and mustard on the side of the waffle fry sliders and serve them hot
